How To Use Outlook Express With TCBMAIL

If you are having trouble with the TCBMAIL web-based mail interface - you can use your favorite Email program to send and receive your TCBMAIL!

In this tutorial I will show you how to set up Outlook Express to utilize TCBMAIL.

1.Open Outlook Express.

2.Click "Tools" in the menu on the top of the screen, then select "Accounts".

3.A menu should pop up titled "Internet Accounts", and to the right there is a box titled "add" which you should select. Then click on "Mail".

4.A new menu will pop up titled "Internet Connection Wizard". It will ask you your name first. Type in your name and then hit the "Next" button.

5. The next window that will pop up asks for your email address. Type in your TCBMAIL address. Click Next.

6. Next you will get a window asking for your "Pop3" and "SMTP" server names. For both, enter tcbmail.com

7. The next window will ask for your username and password. Enter the username and password you received in your welcome email. You may wish to also click the "Remember password" button so the email program can check your email without you having to put your password in each time.

That is all for the initial setup. Click OK.

Now we must go in and change some important settings:

UPDATED 5/28/09:

From the main Outlook Express Window Click "Tools" and then select "Accounts". In The mail accounts tab, select your TCBMAIL account and click the Properties Button.

In the properties window - Click the tab titled "Advanced". In the advanced tab, set your "Outgoing Mail Server" Port to: 587

Click the "Servers" Tab and click the "My server requires authentication" box. Below that box, click "Settings". Once there click the box "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". Click Ok which will return you to the mail settings windows. Now click Close to return to the main Outlook Express window.

That is all! If you followed each of the steps correctly you will now be able to send and receive your TCBMAIL via outlook express!
